Interacting with the Junies
I never thought I would do this....but yes I did it! Ok, let me make the point. I thought teaching is not my cup of tea...I proved myself wrong when I actually started substituiting Mahananda Sir for taking English classes for the first semers!!!
Thanks to Mahananda Sir's encouragement, I and my friend Ankit decided to have a series of interactive talks with the freshers. We decided that we would give them a glimpse of placements in the college as well discuss with them the fun of being involved in good initiatives in the college.
We had the first session with the 'J' section and boy we found this class pretty joshed up about placements and were very interactive. The feedback was good as we heared that these guys later requested Mahananda Sir to ask us to take some more classes for them.
The next turn was with the 'E' section. It was on the day when India would play against SA at B'lore(India won..). The class was scheduled at 1.00 and the match would begin at 2.00. So most of the guys had bunked, to ensure that they would not be missing the first over. So, when we saw these guys moving out we thought that we would be better returning home. Some how Mahananda Sir, clubbed the 'E' and'D' section people and we had a good audience. The class was less interactive, but very well mannered. Infact, it was almost 2 o'clock but these guys insisted us to continue despite the cricket match!! We could thus infer that we were not that bad in taking classes.
This experience refreshed my memories about my first year when I was completely unaware of the placements and all related things. Little did I know then, that I would one day be a Placement Sec..
